It totally should be a replaceable part, but because of the way they've engineered the attachment to the top pole, it is not. If you're looking at this and thinking about doing it, it's time to buy a new scooter.The old part will come off. Eventually. It requires a lot of heat gun, grease, and hammering. You will (at least cosmetically) damage parts of your scooter.The new part will not go on. The bottom attaches just fine, it's got a few bolts and totally makes sense. The top part is pressure fit and is the same size as the hole it needs to go into. I have tried icing the new component and heating the pole so that thermal expansion can help, and using a sledgehammer to couple the parts, but it absolutely will not budge.If it had been designed just a TINY bit slimmer and relied on screws to hold it in place instead of pressure, this would be great. But it does not work.
