I purchased this saddle because I have had two older Schwinn saddles of this style that were probably the most comfortable and functional saddles I have ever had. Unfortunately, this one is not the functional equivalent of the older saddles that I simply cannot find any more. It does look just like it. This saddle has a solid plastic molded frame like many modern saddles whereas the older saddle had a frame with springs stretched front to back that support the rider. Both have the rear vertical springs. I weigh 190 lbs and the foam in this saddle is not quite dense enough and compress all the way to the plastic. The foam is also not a consistent thickness across the surface of the saddle. So, where the pelvic bone hits the wide part is a little thin when you are in a more vertical position. The bike I put this on also lets me get down in a more aero position and it is actually more comfortable this way because the padding is thickest right down the middle. Anyway, still looking for the perfect saddle.
